Native Vegetation Restoration
Australian Water's restoration of 16 hectares of stormwater land in the Stage 3 area of the Rouse Hill Development Area in Sydney's north- west sector has set a new standard for native vegatation restoration and has been recognised by the Australian Institute of Landscaper Architects. Landscape restoration works include bush land reconstruction and regeneration to all areas within the 1 - in - 100year flood zone, incorporating channel reconstruction, detention basins and bushland remnants.
Awards
Australian Water has received an achievement certificate from the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment for its entry into the Green Globe Awards of NSW, and Australian Water's landscape contractor Simpson Landscape and Consultants Pty Ltd has won an award from Landscaper Contractors' Association of NSW and ACT in the category Eco Awareness Commercial.
